I am now offering a professional USB MPG pendant with direct Tormach
PathPilot support. Does not support Mach 3 or 4.
Installation is simple: copy a single plugin file to your PathPilot
G-code folder, reboot, and the pendant is ready to use. No complicated setup
or additional hardware interfaces are required.
As with all of my products, I've built in extensive customization so you
can configure the pendant to suit your workflow.
 Configurable Side Button
- This style of pendant includes a side button that normally acts as a
safety lockout, requiring you to hold it while jogging to prevent accidental
movement.
- I've made this behavior optional. You can retain the hold-to-jog
functionality or disable it for convenient one-handed jogging.
Programmable Multi-Tap Actions
- The side button can also trigger PathPilot commands through a multi-tap
gesture.
- For example, triple-tapping can activate Cycle Start, Feed Hold, Coolant,
or another supported function.
- The number of taps is adjustable from two to five.
- Additional commands can be assigned through combinations of the axis
selector and multi-tap gesture. For example, X + Triple-Tap can perform one
action, while Y + Triple-Tap performs another.
 Configurable E-Stop / Feed Hold
- The large red button can be configured to issue E-Stop, Feed Hold, or
another supported command, depending on your preferred setup.
Fully Adjustable Jog Increments
- The default jog increments are:
- X1: 0.0001"
- X10: 0.001"
- X100: 0.01"
- All three increments are independently adjustable to whatever values you prefer. Separate settings are available for inch and metric operation.
- The pendant also features a precision handwheel with positive tactile detents for controlled incremental positioning.
Flexible Mounting
- The pendant includes a mounting hook for conventional screw-mounted
storage, along with strong magnets on the back.
- This allows you to attach it directly to a steel machine cabinet or other
suitable magnetic surface without installing a hook.
Direct PathPilot Integration
- The pendant includes a dedicated PathPilot configuration tab, allowing
you to adjust button assignments, jogging behavior, increments, and other
settings without modifying code.
- Settings are saved between sessions, and most changes can be applied
without restarting PathPilot.
- USB connectivity is automatically detected and monitored, with automatic
reconnection if the pendant is unplugged and reconnected.
Compatibility
- Designed to work with any Tormach PathPilot machine, whether or not an
Operator Console is installed.
- The pendant communicates directly over USB and operates independently of
the Operator Console hardware.
- Simple to install, highly configurable, and designed to make
everyday machine setup and manual jogging more convenient.
